Form there is i there are można używać w różnych czasach, pamiętajmy tylko o właściwym przekształceniu czasownika be:

Konstrukcja dla zdań przeczących:

THERE IS/ARE + FORMA PRZECZąCA + PODMIOT + OKOL. MIEJSCA

There is not/isn’t a cat on the sofa.

There are no cats on the sofa.

There are not/aren’t any cats on the sofa.

Tworzenie pytań i krótkich odpowiedzi:

Is there a cat on the sofa? Yes, there is. No, there is not/isn’t.

Are there any cats on the sofa? Yes, there are. No, there are not/aren’t.

 

*Konstrukcji there is i there are oraz okolicznika miejsca możemy używać zamiennie:

On the sofa there is a cat.
